Method

  • Download the Minecraft Almere Pampus Challenge (.mcworld file) on the overview page and open it in Minecraft Education.
  • Walk to the energy department in the Green Innovation Hub.
  • Get inspiration.
  • Start building by talking to Xander Bakker.
  • Build your idea/vision for energy.
  • Save your Minecraft world on your Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Android and iPhone/iPad.
  • Open your certificate and upload your world file with a pitch (short explanation).

Easy (8 – 12 year)

Clean energy background

Clean energy is important for the climate. Clean energy is sustainable and not bad for nature. Adding new energy sources is not the only solution. How can we help people get rid of their old energy and start using new clean energy. Is there new technology (smart meters or apps) that can help people use less energy themselves? All this is also important for the new district.

We provide clean energy together. For example, you can put solar panels on a house. But what about the neighbors? Working together ensures that we can distribute energy more intelligently. This also includes companies. Some companies need more energy than others. A company may also only need energy in the evening. How can we distribute energy smartly so that we make good use of it? Nothing should be lost.

  • Many people have to live there. How do these houses get clean energy?
  • The houses must also be economical. How can houses become more economical?
  • There are also many companies or businesses such as a supermarket or a swimming pool. How do they get clean energy? And how can companies also become economical?
  • Technology continues to develop. What technology will be used in the future?
  • Being frugal with energy is important. How can residents become more efficient with their energy?
  • The district must also be beautiful in the future. How do you ensure that the district will look good in the future?
  • Nature and climate are important. How do you provide energy without getting in the way of nature?

  • The district must also be beautiful in the future. How do you ensure that the district will look good in the future?
